David "Hank" Duchovny got another nomination

For those who thought this was a bad year for Mr.Duchovny...
Yes he definitely can:He got another nomination.

He is among the SAG's noms for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series (Californication).

This year the situation is anything but simple: "after months of negotiation, SAG and the studios have hit an impasse over a new deal that would cover such issues as residual payments for movies and TV shows streamed over the Internet. The union announced this week that it would mail out ballots to members Jan. 2 for a vote that would authorize a strike. Seventy-five percent of the membership must vote "yes" for a strike to proceed. "

"You can't ignore what's happening in the economy," Mr. Duchovny said "Everyone wants to keep on working. Even with what little work there is, to have none would be disastrous."

Thank God we got another season of Californication.

The news was announced yesterday by Robert Greenblatt, Showtime President of Entertainment.

"It wouldn't be Showtime without a yearly dose of Californication," said Greenblatt. "This unapologetic show, about a group of characters led by the inimitable David Duchovny, has quickly established itself as one of our signature comedy series. Beneath its veneer of debauchery, however, is a complex take on love and adult relationships that surprisingly turns poetic and romantic just when you least expect it. "

According to the Hollywood Reporter Mr.Duchovny and Californication will be among the Golden Globes favorites.

Indeed: "for comedies, the field is paced by"Californication," HBO's "Entourage," ABC's "Pushing Daisies" and two-time Emmy champ "30 Rock," all of which earned noms earlier this year. They will be competing for spots with ABC's "Ugly Betty," "Samantha Who?" and "Desperate Housewives," Fox's "Family Guy," and CBS' "Two and a Half Men" and "How I Met Your Mother.""
"Meanwhile, some of the favorites for the series acting categories include "30 Rock's" Fey and Alec Baldwin -- both previous winners for the show -- as well as two-time victor David Duchovny for "Californication," Hamm for "Mad Men," two-time winner Hugh Laurie for "House," Michael C. I never watched X-Files, I am more of a Californication Duchovny fan (That is a killer show). He was very laid back and fun to do the scene with as we riffed on the dialog never doing it the same way twice. Sometimes directors hate when you do that, but some funny stuff was coming from it so it was all good. We all know that Duchovny has a lot going on in his personal life, but he didn’t let it effect him on the set as he was a cool pro. "

The power of silence

At this point,every ddwatcher knows about David Duchovny's rehab. This news came like a lightning for a lot of people.
Or maybe not...
All that he said was: "I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction"... "I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family."

First I thought that I've done well if I wouldn't wrote anything about this.
It's simply a matter of respect.
Then I read so many stupid comments and speculations about his situation.
It's enough.
Obviously,everybody can explain own point of view,but there is always a border.
So where does a legitimate curiosity end and unhealthy interest start?
I don't understand how a person can be so fake and say at the same time "I respect him.I will pray for him" and then keeping write about his rehab.
Respect and prayer imply the silence.
Do you know the meaning of this word?
This is why I will never say anything about DD rehab, because I respect him as a human being. And as DD fan I respect his request.
If he has a problem he will solve it. I'm sure of this.
And I'm sure too that if he would entered a facility for another addiction,like drug or alcohol,now there aren't so much people so scandalized.
It seems sex is a problem not only for Mr Duchovny.
As always, bigots talk too much of what they frightened of.
It's time to learn the power of silence.

Ten good reasons for watch I want to believe

If you are still doubtful and you're thinking "why I should see this movie?" you have to know this:

1> Mulder is aging like an excellent "Brunello di Montalcino";
2> Scully is finally a rebel;
3> Skinman is back!And he is so sweet when he embrace Mulder;

Duchovny is back to Mulder. And Mulder was waiting for him

Two days ago I saw the preview of I want to believe* (finally) and this is what I think about Mr.Duchovny's performance.
In the others roles he was good, but whenever he plays Mulder he dominates!
When he plays Hank is funny,but in this character I see a nuance of distance that isn't in Mulder.
Same story when he plays Ben in The Secret (there he was truly clever) or Tom in Trust the man.But when he is Mulder…his eyes are more intense,his body moves with familiarity both in action and in love.When he has a doubt the mouth and the tongue underline that feeling, like every feeling the character would show has a similar successfully reaction from the actor.
Mr.Duchovny,aka Mulder, succeed to arrive to the audience’s heart & soul.
When he is "on field" on the new X files, he is the one I notice. Mulder returns to the past, but now he can handle it.His years of maturity will be the best.
Mulder’s sense of humor is eminently returned from Mr.Duchovny.
That is not just because Mr.Duchovny was Mulder in past, but, in my opinion, because he believes in this character.
And I consider I want to believe a great movie that deserve to be a full success on theaters!
To all DDwatchers I say:let go to watch I WANT TO BELIEVE!!!
To mr Duchovny I say: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Starting from here,I’m thinking about the Hank’s women.
Each of them represent -in my opinion- an ideal,an abstraction, because they are fiction's characters too.
Hank Moody’s character is based on Charles Bukowski's alter ego Henry (Hank)Women's protagonist.
In Bukowski's universe, the female characters have often nice asses and loud mouths,but he is not a misogynists,he is just a positive womanizer,
à la recherche of the uman being in every woman he meets.
Moody muses on the misogyny of the culture of which he is a part: "Why is LA so hell-bent on destroying its female population?" he asks in his blog.
He is more sweet than Henry.
And, contrary to USA press that looks at Hank just like a man (by M.Gilbert,Different truth is out there for Duchovny on Showtime): "[...]jump(s) from woman to woman to prove his vigor", the truth is "the sex is Hank's way of dealing with all his personal great angst".(Mr.Duchovny interview by Kevin Thompson,Cox new service)

Someone who carries on ignoring with disdain the hard work about David Duchovny done by other people ("Hey buddy,isn't a very smart action to do,you know?!One day you could be sorry for doing the bitch now...")
And at last, there is also someone who -only because met David Duchovny- now believes to become his spokeswoman.
To this people I'd like to say:Grow up!You are just another drop in his oceanic fandom,the power comes only with heart and truth,without envy or silence.
Is there anyone who really thinks it's possible *buy* his attention?
DD is joy and love,remember...
Luckily I know there are so many ddwatchers who live this passion in healthy,amusing...and crazy way.
So very soon I'll add another poll on moondust page to ask you what are you ready to do for Mr. Duchovny...it will be a joke,don't think it seriously!

After all it was said and done…Mr. Duchovny won!!!Many people had several doubts about his role;other people was scandalized by Californication’ plot,instead I was astonished by some bigoted mind in the world,but now… Let’s forget it ddwatchers!
Foreign press loves Hank Moody as (almost)much as us!
What a pity…I would see his face while they said his name as winner…
