Tell Mr.Duchovny the remake's dead

Few days ago I read this news and I thought it was ridiculous and sad.
I hope that Mr.Duchovny doesn't take part in this project. Why? Because remake a movie isn't always a "great" idea, rather an easy path. I instead wonder why a very interesting movie like "My Dark Places" will not be achieved...
I keep reading that he is a good actor (but undervalued) so I really would see him playing a complex and interesting role: he needs a great character and script, certainly NOT that junk movie!
